Why Would You Need This?
An example is when a plugin has registered the custom post type. Instead of having to amend the plugin’s code at the point where the custom post type is registered, you can simply add these two lines of code to the bottom of your child theme’s functions.php
Replace custom_post_type_name_here with the name of the custom post type.
If the custom post type was created by a plugin, you will need to find the name of the custom post type. This can usually be found easily within the plugin’s documentation. Failing that, search for ‘register_post_type’ in the plugin’s code and you’ll find it there.
Once this is done. If you head to the edit screen for that post type, you will find your new Genesis settings meta boxes. Tada!
